This was actually used!
- Used in march 2000, for the work council (Ondernemingsraad) elections
at XS4ALL.
- Out of 97 people who could vote, 79 (81%) actually voted during the 3-day
vote period.
- The blind signature program runs on windows too, thanks to activestate!
- Return of the anonymous votes was through an anonymous remailer.
- Or, since remailers weren't reliable then, by abusing a badly configured
open smtp relay.
- Of those 79 votes, 76 were done by using "simplistic algorithm 1" (the
password-protected CGI script).
- Only 3 people used the blind signature protocol to get an anonymous
vote number.
- Only 2 anonymous votes were received back through email.
